Cybex child seats - The price and functions of the different series Platinum, Gold and Silver

Die-Preis-und-Funktionen-der-unterschiedlichen-Serien-Platinum-Gold-und-Silber-600px

The Cybex child seats are divided into three series. A distinction is made between silver, gold and platinum. At first glance, the differences are not immediately clear. On closer inspection, however, one can clearly distinguish the rows from one another. But where exactly are the differences?

The Silver Collection: Silver is the inexpensive series from the manufacturer Cybex. The products are of course of a high standard in terms of security. Seats in the Silver collection are not always the latest products, but can also include older models.

The Gold Collection: Seats and strollers in the Gold Collection are always new models for the current year. These offer you all the practical functions you need to make your everyday life as easy as possible. In comparison to the Platinum seats, the gold products are more slimmed down and simple. In the case of seats, for example, this can be recognized by the fact that the fabric does not cover the entire seat, but only the seat surface.

The Platinum Collection: The seats in the Platinum Collection in particular impress with their even higher safety requirements. The designs are often created in collaboration with well-known fashion designers such as Jeremy Scott Cherubs (Moschino) or Karolina Kurkova. The design and perfectly coordinated ease of use are guaranteed by the Platinum collection.

The fabrics - plus and standard

Normales-stoff
Plus-stoff

The collections from the manufacturer Cybex can be purchased in two different fabric qualities. You can choose between the plus fabrics and the simple standard fabrics. The simple fabrics are made of a soft material and are monochrome. They can be cleaned in the machine and are available in many bright colors. The plus fabrics are made from a slightly coarser fabric with a slight mottling. They are particularly robust and durable and can be purchased in different colors. Due to their somewhat coarser surface, they can withstand restless children's legs and can be machine washed without hesitation.

The Cybex fabrics are of the highest quality and meet the latest demands on materials and workmanship.

Sensor Safe child seats and the Sensor Safe 4 in 1 safety kit - maximum safety for your child

Sensor Safe is the Cybex safety system for baby seats, reboarders and child seats up to 18 kg. It ensures maximum the safety and comfort of your child while driving. Sensor Safe is controlled via an app. The small ClipOn safety system detects when the child is released from the seat belt or when the car is too warm or cold. The app also alerts you when your child has been sitting in the seat for too long and it is time to change position or when the child has been left alone in the car for too long.

Sensor Safe can be purchased directly with the seat. If you subsequently decided to secure your child with the Sensor Safe, you can purchase the 4 in 1 safety kit and use the same for all common Cybex seats.

Seats with an integrated sensor safe must be requested from the manufacturer as a special order. Please therefore expect slightly longer delivery times. On the other hand, we always have the 4 in 1 safety kit in stock and can connect it directly to your seat if you wish.

The modular systems from Cybex

Modular-system-Babyschale-und-Reaborder-600px
Modular-M

If you have already dealt with Cybex seats, you have probably already noticed the modular systems. But what exactly is a so-called modular system? And what makes it so practical?

A modular system typically consists of three parts. The Isofix base station, the baby seat and the reboarder. The parts are compatible with each other and can be combined with one another as required. At the beginning you use the baby seat. This can be clicked or strapped onto the base in the car. As soon as your child grows out of the shell, switch to the reboarder. This can be used up to a height of 105 cm and can only be used together with the base. You can see the advantages of using an Isofix base station in the next section. Modular systems are closed systems and are not compatible with one another. So only the Cloud Z baby seat and the Sirona Z reboarder fit on the Base Z. The same applies to the Base M2 with the Anton M baby seat and the Sirona M2.

System Z has a base on which the shell and reboarder can be rotated 360 °. This makes lifting your child in and out of the car easier. The Cloud Z baby seat can also be adjusted to a lying position outside of the car. The System M has no rotating mechanism and belongs to the Gold series from the manufacturer Cybex.

Isofix base stations - similarities and differences

Some Cybex car seats are equipped with integrated Isofix connectors or a complete Isofix base. But what exactly is an Isofix base station?

An Isofix base station can be hooked into the pre-installed Isofix hook in your car (between the seat and backrest) and is therefore firmly connected to the body of your car. In addition, a base station has a support foot that must be attached to the sub-floor with a firm footing. All Isofix base stations have visual indicators that show the correct installation of the base and whether the respective child seat is properly locked in place. The practical thing is that when using a base, you no longer have to attach the baby seat to the car with the three-point belt, you can simply snap the seat onto the station. The Isofix connectors on class 2 seats work without a support foot and can simply be clicked into place.

There is a matching base station for all Cybex baby seats. Some are so-called modular systems. A modular system describes a base station on which a baby seat, but also the subsequent reboarder, can be attached. There is only one suitable base station for most trays and reboarders. When buying, therefore, check carefully whether the seat and station go together.

What is a baby car seat?

Was-ist-eine-Babyschale-600px

A baby seat, also known as a car seat or baby safe, is the most common way of safely transporting a newborn in the car. There are many different bowls and models and it is worth taking a closer look at the options available. The manufacturer Cybex alone has a large selection of models available for you.

But where exactly are the differences between the baby seats?

A baby seat is made up of different parts. The shell body, the padded lying surface with belt system, the height-adjustable headrest, the sun canopy and the roll bar and carry handle. There are bowls with a solid body. Your child can only lie in one position in them. Shells with a flexible body allow you to set a flat position outside of the car in addition to the normal lying position. The trays also differed according to the safety standards for which they were tested. Seats that are labeled with the so-called i-size standards are currently considered to be the safest baby seats.

Of course, a baby seat can also be used outside the car. For example, it can be used on the handle for easy transport of your child. Or simply fixed on a stroller frame with the appropriate adapters and used as a bathtub replacement.

In the car, an Isofix base station makes it easier to handle the tray. Further information on the base station and the various shell and seat models can be found below.

What is a reboarder?

Was-ist-ein-Reboarder

A reboarder is the successor seat to the baby seat. A reboarder with a newborn insert (seat reducer) can also be used from birth. Typically, however, this will be used as the successor seat.

Cybex reboarders are only used with the Isofix base station and cannot be strapped. Every reboarder has an associated base, this cannot be freely selected, but must match the model. A reboarder can be used with a view in and against the direction of travel. Thanks to the base station, some have an additional 360 ° rotation option, which makes getting in and out of the seat easier. They are permitted up to a height of 105 cm, which corresponds to about 3-4 years of age. Thanks to the adjustable resting position, your child can lie down and sleep while driving.

Cybex has many different reboarders to choose from. Many of them belong to a modular system with base station and baby seat.

Cybex Anoris T i-Size child seat - the forward-facing child seat according to the new i-size standard for children from 15 months

Anoris-T-1

With the Anorias T i-Size, Cybex is bringing a child seat onto the market that sets new safety standards. A child seat with an airbag. While airbags were previously primarily intended for the driver and front passenger, Cybex has designed a child seat with an integrated airbag that protects your child's head, neck and body. The seat can be used facing forward so that you can always keep an eye on your child (approx. From 15 months to 6 years). Your child has full legroom. The operation of the child seat with 3-way adjustable seat position is intuitive and easy. To buckle up, all you have to do is close the impact shield on the seat and tighten the belt, which adapts the impact shield to the size of your child. In the car, the seat is attached to a base. Thanks to Isofix and a support leg, it is stable in the car.

Child seats with impact shield

Child seats with an impact shield can be used from a height of 76 cm. Rear-facing is considered the safest option for young children up to four years old. However, if you decide that you want your child to ride forward at an earlier age, you should choose a child seat with an impact shield. The impact shield offers greater protection against neck injuries in frontal crashes compared to child seats with a 5-point harness, as the child can roll their upper body and head over the impact shield. Similar to an airbag, the resulting forces are distributed evenly over the surface of the impactor.

What is a class 2 child seat?

Was-ist-ein-Klasse-2-Kindersitz

A child seat or class 2 seat is the last required child seat group. These seats are used from a height of approx. 1 m up to a height of 1.5 m or 36 kg (this corresponds to approx. 12 years of age). Thanks to the adjustable headrest, class 2 child seats grow with the child and can be used in the car with and without Isofix. It is practical that you do not have to purchase an extra Isofix station for class 2 child seats, as Isofix is already pre-installed.

Unlike in the baby seat and the reboarder, your child is no longer secured with a belt system installed on the seat but with the three-point belt in the car.

The manufacturer Cybex offers many different seats to choose from. When making your choice, please pay particular attention to the minimum weight required for the respective seat.
