Cybex Base 2 fix
With the Base 2-Fix, the Aton baby carriers can be easily and safely installed in the car with Isofix or with the three-point seat belt. The Aton Base 2-Fix offers quick installation and a high level of convenience. The Isofix connectors allow additional stability and security.
The baby seats are clicked backwards onto the Base 2-Fix. When installing the Aton model, please ensure that the green indicator appears above the support leg on the gray lever. This lever is also the unlocking mechanism to remove the baby seat from the Isofix base.
You can find out which seat in your car is suitable for using a base station from the operating instructions for your car and the vehicle compatibility list for the Aton Base 2-Fix. If a seat has a front airbag, it must always be switched off if you want to attach a baby seat to this seat.
Installation with Isofix
The installation of the Base 2-Fix with Isofix is quick and easy and is the safest way to use the base. You turn the Isofix arms out and unfold the support leg before you attach the base to the Isofix hooks of the car seat with the Isofix connectors. When the Isofix is properly engaged, the side release levers jump from red to green. Then you just have to adjust the length of the support leg before you can put the baby seat on the base. If the distance between the base and the backrest is too large (because the Isofix hooks on the car are attached too far to the front) and sit loosely, it may be more sensible to fasten the base with the seat belt of the car seat.
Installation with belt
The Base 2-Fix can also be installed in the car with the three-point belt. To do this, the base station is pushed up to the backrest of the seat with the support leg folded out and the 3-point belt of the car is clicked into place in a quick-release device. To do this, the waist belt is first passed under the tensioning flap, then the belt lock is clicked in and finally the shoulder belt is tensioned parallel to the waist belt (and together with it) under the flap. There are soft clicking noises here as an indicator that the mechanism is properly engaged. When installing with the vehicle belt, it is important that it is tensioned very tightly so that the base sits firmly and cannot slip.
